Reflections
What has been especially meaningful for me in developing my skills in supervision has been the kindness, encouragement, and patience of professors and supervisees that I have received. I felt very touched by their positive and constructive feedback and their willingness to place trust in my abilities to supervise. Because I have been a student for a very long time, it is different for me to begin to shift into the position of supervisor. I think I have strength in my ability to empathize with supervisees as fellow human beings on a journey. I also have grown in my ability to see from the perspective of a supervisor, who is a work in progress and in a different stage of development than supervisees. I hope to continue developing my comfort level and confidence as I gain more experience as a supervisor. I rely upon my faith in Christ daily to help develop my character and ability to give and receive with humility.
